Register enough lake life to upgrade Marinca Bloom to roughly level 3. Sato should then approach near the dock before a dive and mention the rare Giant Snapping Turtle.

Talk to the relevant villagers, dive to the far-left route around 60 m, inspect the thick roots, report back to Sato, and bring deep-sea ore to Perak so he can sharpen the machete.

Catch and register lake species until the app reaches approximately level 3.

Return to the dock

On a following cycle, allow Sato's approach and rare-turtle conversation to play.

Talk to the village contacts

Follow the dialogue through Sato, the Chief, or Basu as the objective indicates.

Inspect the blocked den

Dive to the third lake layer, head far left around 60 m, and approach the thick roots.

Upgrade the machete

The normal machete cannot cut the den's roots. After inspecting them, report back to Sato and speak with Perak. Collect the requested deep-sea ore in the newly accessible lower route, return it to Perak as a whetstone, and take the sharpened machete back to the roots.

Beat the Giant Snapping Turtle

  • Bring spare oxygen and ammunition after opening the den.
  • Stay clear of the head during the bite wind-up.
  • Move behind or above the turning line after a lunge.
  • Fire during the turtle's recovery rather than into its armored shell.
  • Speak to Sato after the fight; the reward chain includes making him available as Grill staff.
